Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning uses a medical-grade surgical blade in short strokes at a 45 degree angle to remove the surface layer of dead skin, debris and hair. A single dermaplaning session is able to remove around 2-3 weeks of built up dead skin cells and debris from your skin. Since the blade is being held at a precise angle and the experienced technician uses light, feathering strokes, there is no worry about piercing or scratching the skin. Microneedling is a cosmetic technique that uses tiny micro-needles to create very small, controlled pricks in the skin. What Are PDO Threads?
They are hypodermic needles preloaded with an absorbable PDO suture.
PDO stands for Polydioxanone. Its a synthetic absorbable surgical suture composed of polydioxanone. Sutures are used to perform Cardiothoracic surgery (such as open-heart surgery). It's one of the safest materials to be implanted in the body. Your skin fully absorbs it within 4 to 6 months & won't leave you with any scar tissue.

How Does It Work?
There are two methods, through which it’s working can be elaborated:
1) Controlled Healing:
In medical terms “Selective Inflammatory Response”, it is the principle behind a lot of aesthetic procedures (such as Fractional Laser, Chemical Peels & Microneedling). Our skin is very good at repairing itself, and by inserting PDO threads we make it ‘heal’ itself by creating new collagen, naturally!
Your skin gently reacts to the inserted threads
Yes, PDO is fully absorbable, but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t react to it. During the 4 to 6 months needed to fully absorb the PDO suture, your skin is also repairing itself around it. It’s “controlled healing” happening underneath the skin!
2) Mesh or Lift:
There are two types of procedures with PDO Threads:
- The first one (using smooth threads) consists of creating a mesh under the skin (i.e. 2 sutures inserted vertically & 3 sutures horizontally). Sort of like a #hashtag, or a net. This Mesh will serve as the foundation for our new collagen production. This technique tightens the skin naturally from within. Results appear naturally, without any drastic change!
- The other technique (using barbed threads) is utilized to produce a more dramatic and immediate result. The PDO sutures have “barbs”, which provide a grip underneath the skin. Sutures are inserted the same way, except they can be pulled in 1 or 2 directions, creating an instant skin re-positioning. Just like with the smooth threads, the skin will then build new collagen which will secure the lift!

Restoring The V-shape
A beautiful and healthy face has a 'V-shape'. With the ageing of tissues and the action of gravity, this "V-shape" diminishes or inverts. The idea behind the Nu-Mesh and the Nu-Lift technique is to either create a scaffolding in order to support the tissues and keep them in the "V-shape" or where necessary to delicately lift the tissues and re-position the skin to recreate the "V-shape" where it's been lost.

Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP, is the one of the latest treatments that is trending today and it is showing impressive results for many people who try it.
PRP therapy, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy, involves drawing out one's own blood and centrifuging it so that the plasma with platelets collects in a tube. This plasma, that is rich in platelets and growth factors, is very useful in tissue healing and regeneration. After being extracted, it is injected on the scalp (or rubbed in the scalp after performing a dermaroller treatment) in the areas which suffer from hair loss.
The application of PRP causes hair follicles that are miniaturized to become larger and healthier, thus producing more hair growth. PRP is loaded with growth factors that promote rapid cell growth and hair restoration.
Will PRP Hair Restoration Work For Me?
PRP therapy is an effective hair restoration treatment for hair loss caused by:
- Male Pattern Hair Loss
- Female Pattern Hair Loss
- Hypotrichosis (fine/reduced hairs) of the eyebrows or beard

The goal of this procedure is to give you a more youthful face without traditional facelift surgery.

What It Is:
The PRP Non-surgical Facelift is a procedure that uses your own blood to help boost the youthful appearance of your face. This procedure helps grow new tissue which smooths skin texture and encourages the growth of new blood vessels to provide a beautiful healthy glow!
We sample a small quantity of your blood and immediately centrifuge it in order to extract the plasma concentrated in platelets. This plasma is then injected by mesotherapy in the areas requiring treatment. A PRP session lasts approximately 1 hour.

How It Works:
In the first part of the PRP Non-surgical facelift procedure, the board certified physicians at Midwest Anti-Aging and Med Spa use a dermal filler, such as Restylane or Juvederm to sculpt a younger appearing face. Next, the physician draws about 2 teaspoons of the patient's blood. After the blood has been drawn, the physician isolates platelets from that blood (platelet-rich plasma PRP) using a centrifuge located in the office. The platelets are then "activated" to cause the release of several growth factors that would normally be used to heal injured tissue. These growth factors work to cause increased collagen & new blood flow. To rejuvenate new skin, these growth factors must be put back into your face.
The final step in the PRP non-surgical facelift is to inject these growth factors back into the patient's face. Using a numbing cream and a very small needle results in little to no pain during this procedure. After the injection, the growth factors activate stem cells that are naturally found in the skin. The stem cells are tricked into thinking there's been an injury, so they begin to generate new tissue.
The result...younger-appearing skin!
The effects of the procedure improve for 2 to 3 months and last for at least 1 to 2 years!
